Xander - They/Them/Theirs

Xander is a non-binary, queer and Indigenous human parent.

Xander is a registered nurse, working in a busy regional emergency department. Being out in their workplace, they feel it's important to provide trans and gender diverse healthcare education to other health professionals.

In their downtime Xander is a visual artist with several projects currently on the go, including creating trans and gender neutral greeting cards. You can find more about their art here.

Rick (He/Him/His)

Rick Youssef is a proud gay man who moved to Ballarat in 1987 and was actively involved in safer sex education, the Ballarat AIDS care team and politics. Rick established & hosts the Rainbow Ballarat Coffee group bringing community together every Thursday morning.

Helen & Sandy (She/Her/hers)

A lesbian couple who met and live in the Ballarat region, Helen and Sandy have been together for 29 years and have 7 children and 16 grandchildren together.

Remi is a year 9 student who hosts their school Pride Group and is a part of Speak’s Youth Co-design Team helping create and deliver Speak’s LGBTIQA+ Youth Support programs.
